It’s time we Americans reclaim our entrepreneurial spirit and can-do attitude! The media keeps telling us that entrepreneurs and small business owners will save our economy and take us into the next period of prosperity. Women, especially, are being touted as the “next big thing”! Huge percentages of women are in the workforce and their success is vital to their own personal economy as well as the country’s.
More men and women want flexibility and freedom in their lifestyles. We need and want time to spend with our families, caring for children and older family members. And, of course, we want to have quality time for ourselves as well.
Case in point, I write this post on a Tuesday morning, a normal workday for most. I have loaded my kayak onto my car and am off for a kayak and camping trip. It’s not that I work less than most. It’s that I work a flexible schedule that allows me to take advantage of opportunities. And let’s talk about that word “work”! I prefer the term “profitable play”. To me, it is vital to my well-being to do “work” that I not only enjoy, but am thoroughly passionate about. That makes it “play”.
The trick is to make doing what you love to do income-producing at a level that can sustain you. That’s what the National Association of Entrepreneurs is all about. Come find out what we’re all about.
