Eligibility
Membership is open to any owner or chief executive officer (CEO) of a local business founded or operated by the prospective member. Persons who have owned and operated a business in the past are eligible for membership if their current occupation adds value to the group subject to NAE approval. Because the NAE serves and consists of founders and owners of independent businesses exclusively, no positions exist for franchise owners or owners of network marketing businesses (MLM) or sales professionals. Real estate brokers who operate their own real estate brokerage firm are eligible for membership.

Chapter Leadership
Each chapter has the following leadership positions:
- Chapter President
- Vice President of Programs
- Vice President of Membership
Chapter Leaders hold office from January 1 to December 31 of any given year. The duties and responsibilities of chapter leaders are determined by the NAE. A complimentary one year of membership will be provided to each of the three leaders of a chapter who have served a term of one year, which shall begin immediately following the year of service provided their duties were satisfactorily performed pursuant to the written description of duties.
Chapter Leaders’ Responsibilities
All Chapter Leaders
- Ensure members, visitors and guests feel warmly welcomed
- Ensure each workshop is conducted in a professional and expeditious manner
- Liaison with other NAE chapter leaders and NAE corporate
- Promote each workshop’s topic and/or speaker via social media before, during and after each workshop ie. Facebook profile, NAE Facebook business page, Twitter, Linked In, Meetup, etc.
- Frequently promote individual chapter members’ businesses, as appropriate, via social media before, during and after each workshop ie. Facebook profile, NAE Facebook business page, Twitter, Linked In, Meetup, etc.
- Assist with the start up of new NAE chapters
- Actively promote the NAE in the business community
- Actively promote individual NAE members within your chapter and in the business community
- Frequently invite non-member business owners to visit the chapter
- Attend a minimum of 20 workshops during the year term
Chapter President
- Chair chapter workshops
- Follow the set workshop agenda allowing each member the opportunity to contribute according to their predetermined workshop roles
- Consult with the Vice Presidents regularly
- Contact the restaurant venue at least one week prior to each workshop and again 24 hours prior to ensure the restaurant is prepared to host our group
- Ensure all Speaker and Contributor Roles are filled prior to the next workshop
- Assist the Vice Presidents and Workshop Contributors in the performance of their duties
- Ensure chapter documentation is maintained with the most current information
- Connect with members weekly via email with meeting recaps and announcements
- Chair workshops in the absence of the Chapter President
- Invite and schedule speakers for upcoming workshops
- Advise NAE corporate of upcoming speakers and ensure corporate has bio, photo and speaker’s topic description for the weekly newsletter and website event page at least 3 weeks in advance
- Schedule volunteers for the Hot Seat for future workshop programs
Vice President of Membership
- Chair the workshop in the absence of both the President and Vice President of Programs
- Greet members, visitors and guests at the door
- Ensure first time visitors complete Visitor Registration Form at start of workshop
- Ensure second time visitors complete Membership Application at start of workshop
- Ensure that funds for lunch costs have been collected from all in attendance prior to start of workshop
- Hand deliver or mail to corporate any collected lunch cost funds, Visitor Forms and Membership Applications with 24 hours following workshop
- Ensure that each visitor is aware of the benefits of membership and answer any questions they may have or direct them to the appropriate chapter leader
- Collect and maintain updated information for all members and deliver to NAE corporate, Chapter President and Vice President of Programs immediately following each workshop
- Maintain the Chapter Box and bring to each workshop
- Bring members’ name tags and Biz Card file to each workshop and other events
- Attend a minimum of 16 meetings a year
- Register online at least 24 hours in advance of each workshop by paying for the lunch cost which is in addition to the monthly dues. [Register via the weekly email newsletter in your inbox each Monday morning or anytime via the NAE website at www.theNAE.org.]
- Assist with greeting other members and introducing visitors to other members
- Ensure workshops are conducted in a professional manner
- Keep the business card file stocked with your business cards
- Serve as Speaker in an area of your expertise at least once annually
- Contribute “Power Bites” (informational/educational tidbits on designated topics delivered verbally in under a minute) frequently at workshops
- Volunteer to be the Entrepreneur in the Hot Seat [Business Advisors' Focus Session] at least once annually
- Actively promote the NAE and individual NAE members in the business community
- Promote each workshop’s topic and/or speaker via social media before, during and after each workshop ie. Facebook profile, NAE Facebook business page, Twitter, Linked In, Meetup, etc.
- Frequently promote, as appropriate, individual chapter members’ businesses via social media before, during and after each workshop ie. person to person, Facebook profile, NAE Facebook business page, Twitter, Linked In, Meetup, etc.
- Frequently invite non-member business owners to visit the chapter
Membership Dues
Membership Dues are paid via Paypal auto-debit at $27 per month for a minimum initial term of six months. You may cancel your National Association of Entrepreneurs membership at any time after the initial six month term with 30 days written notice by simply letting us know. There is a one time initiation fee of $27 to cover the cost of your name tag and setting up your listing in the Membership Directory.
